Present a the gathering were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Ki Nam, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea who is honorary chairman of the International Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, Ri Su Yong, vice-chairman of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairwoman of the Korean Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, and others.

Present there were honorary chairpersons and co-chairpersons of the International Preparatory Committee for the above-said gathering, delegations and delegates of various countries and regions and international democratic organizations, personages of various circles, members of the diplomatic missions here, etc.

Conveyed there were a floral basket to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent by the participants in the 5th International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, and silk banners, medals, honorary titles, prizes, diplomas, and gifts to the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu presented by international and regional preparatory committees for the above-said gathering, international democratic organizations, foreign political parties, organizations, institutions and personages of various circles.

Peter Woods, ambassador of the United Cities and Local Governments-Asia Pacific who is co-chairman of the International Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, said in his report that since an appeal for holding an international great gathering for praising the peerlessly great persons of Mt Paektu was released in October, 2015, activities for revering the peerlessly great sages and supporting the Korean people's just cause have been briskly conducted all over the world.

He expressed belief that the current festival would become a significant occasion demonstrating before the world the ardent desire of the progressives for praising the exploits of HE Kim Il Sung and HE Kim Jong Il and glorifying the 21st century as the great one of Kim Jong Un.

C. P. Mainali, general secretary of the C.C., Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) who is chairman of the Nepalese National Committee for Remembering President Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il, stressed that the human history has seen many famous persons but none of them is on a par with HE Kim Il Sung and HE Kim Jong Il as they have been boundlessly revered by the world people not only in their lives but also after their demise.

Victor Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK who is co-chairman of the International Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, said that all the world revolutionary peoples who received the 2017 Paektusan declaration would make a dynamic struggle for building a new society in which independence is realized, entrusting the rosy future to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairwoman of the Korean Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, extended thanks to all delegations and delegates who are giving wide publicity to the exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and extending support and solidarity to the Korean people's just cause on behalf of the Korean Preparatory Committee for the above-said gathering.

She stressed that the Korean people would wage a dynamic struggle for realizing the genuine international justice with the world peace-loving people.

A letter to Kim Jong Un presented by the participants in the festival was adopted at the gathering.
