Electric-power Production Goes up in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- Workers in the field of electric-power production in the DPRK are striving to ease the strain on power under the banner of self-reliance.

According to Kim Yong Chol, vice-minister of Electric Power Industry, workers have performed new miracles and innovations in power production every day with the will to frustrate the mean and imprudent sanctions and provocations of the U.S.

Bearing in mind the truth that self-reliance and self-sufficiency are the only way to survive, workers in the field of thermal power plants have taken measures for decisively increasing the consecutive operating time of generating equipment.

The Pyongyang and Pukchang thermal power complexes applied firing technology without heavy oil by their own efforts and newly remodeled turbines and generators. The East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant is introducing a technology for stabilizing the high temperature air combustion into production.

Successes have also been witnessed in hydro-power stations.

The Suphung, Sodusu, Hochongang and Thaechon hydro-power stations have overfulfilled their daily production quotas by controlling the quantity of water and managing equipment in a proper way.

A new-type of turbine blade, digital integrated protective device and digital electric speed regulator were manufactured and introduced into generators.

Meanwhile, a work is also brisk for generating tens of thousands of kWs of electricity by introducing a computer-based optimization method for water management.
