Samjiyon, August 18 (KCNA) -- Deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly on an expedition to the revolutionary battle sites around Mt Paektu visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp on Friday. They laid bouquets at the mosaic mural depicting the three generals of Mt Paektu in the camp and paid tribute to them. They looked back upon the revolutionary career of President Kim Il Sung at the headquarters log cabin located in the Sobaeksu Valley and keenly realized the traits of leader Kim Jong Il as a great man through the historical mementoes at the cabin. They went round the monument inscribed with the poem "Shining Star" composed by Kim Il Sung on Kim Jong Il's birthday and the shallow well used by anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk and trees on which she inscribed revolutionary slogans. They held an oath-taking meeting before the statue of Kim Il Sung at the Samjiyon Grand Monument. Attending it was Choe Yong Rim, honorary vice-president of the SPA Presidium. At the meeting speakers said that the whole course of the expedition was the days when they deeply grasped the greatness of the peerlessly great persons and the indomitable fighting spirit of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners. They hardened the will to defend and glorify the idea and exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for building a Juche-based state and strictly apply the Juche-oriented view on the people, the people-first principle, in all fabrics of state and social life. They called upon the participants to be true patriots and ardent vanguard fighters who keep their revolutionary faith to the death with the honor of being deputies to the SPA in the great era of Kim Jong Un. |
