S. Korea: Trade Unions Demand Basic Labor Rights
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- According to the south Korean online paper Voice of People, the Government Employees' Union and the Teachers Union of south Korea held a joint press conference outside Chongwadae on Aug. 17, urging the authorities to ensure the basic labor rights and withdraw the notice on outlawing the teachers.

Speakers said that the present chief executive promised to ensure the basic labor rights during his "presidential" election but nothing has changed.

Such reality shows he only talks about cleaning up deep-rooted evils of the Park Geun Hye "government", they said, claiming that the unity of workers is the basic human right and the trade union should not allow anyone to interfere in it.

They stressed that the present "government" should immediately stop labeling the teachers' union as illegal.
