Mended Inter-Korean Relations Demanded by S. Korean Organization

Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration made public an appeal on Aug. 15 denouncing the U.S. and south Korean authorities for aggravating the danger of a war on the Korean peninsula and demanding the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and conclusion of a peace accord between the DPRK and the U.S.

The appeal said that the unprecedented military tension is prevailing on the peninsula and the future of the peninsula should be decided by the Korean nation.

Stressing that no country should talk about any war such as a "preventative war" on the peninsula, they asserted that the normalization of the relations and conclusion of the peace pact are necessary for easing the military conflict on the peninsula.

They urged the U.S. and south Korean authorities to stop every act which can cause the military conflict on the peninsula such as joint military exercises.

The appeal called upon all compatriots to usher in the phase of exchange and solidarity among various circles.
