Coal Output Increases in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Coal miners of the DPRK have turned out in a drive to foil the U.S. reckless sanctions and provocation with increased coal production.

Taking the lead in the drive is the Tukjang Area Coal-mining Complex which is a typical unit of the grand Mallima advance of self-reliance and self-development.

Kim Chang Sok, department director of the Ministry of Coal Industry, told KCNA:

The complex has carried out the daily assignment at 105 percent.

The Ryongsan and Myonghak coal mines secured new coal beds by giving priority to tunneling and boosted the production by raising the level of mechanization at the coalface.

The Tukjang Youth Coal Mine introduced innovations in prospecting, tunneling and coal mining, thus producing several thousand more tons of coal than scheduled in a few days.

Besides, the Sunchon, Pukchang, Tokchon and Kaechon area coal-mining complexes supply coal to thermal power plants in time.
