S. Koreans Demand Stop to War Drills
Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Organizations of various circles in south Korea reportedly launched actions in Seoul on Monday, demanding stop to Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drills.

The People's Action for Peace against War, composed of various civic and social bodies, and the Headquarters for People's All-out Action held a press conference and peace actions in front of Kwanghwamun.

Noting that the danger of military conflict on the Korean peninsula may lead to an actual war, they urged the chief executive to immediately stop the large-scale war drills if he doesn't want the outbreak of war.

They expressed their will to carry on their no-war actions until the end of the drills across south Korea and held demo in front of the U.S. embassy, in particular.

The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and other organizations held a press conference outside Chongwadae after staging a no-war signature campaign.

They said that UFG should be stopped in order to defuse the war danger prevailing on the Korean peninsula.

At the end of the press conference the organizations thrust the list of signatures to Chongwadae.

Meanwhile, many other organizations including the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Civic Peace Forum launched actions in demand of stop to the war drills at the Seoul Plaza.
