S. Korean Youth Bodies Call for Halting War Drill at Once

Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- South Korean youth and students organizations launched an action near the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Aug. 21 to protest against Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drill by the U.S. imperialists and south Korean warmongers, according to the south Korean online paper Jaju Sibo.

The Youth and Students Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration and six other youth and students organizations held a news conference.

The speakers said that the kick-off of the military rehearsal in which OPLAN 5015 calling for "beheading operation" and preemptive attack for eradicating the leadership of the north is applied is little short of adding fuel to the fire.

The press release read out at the press conference declared neither sanctions nor pressure can achieve peace on the Korean peninsula. It noted the military rehearsal for war should be halted at once.
