Victor Oliva Miguel, general secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru, said this in a statement on Aug. 15. The statement went on:

We extend firm support and solidarity to the Korean people in the struggle for protecting national sovereignty and prestige, smashing the U.S. moves.

The arrogant U.S. imperialists are extremely escalating the tensions on the Korean peninsula by further ratcheting up politico-military pressure, threat and sanctions against socialist Korea, far from drawing a lesson from its bitter defeat in the past Korean war.

The Korean people would not yield to the U.S. military threat and sanctions.

Although not big in its territory, the DPRK is a dignified nuclear power which the U.S. dares not provoke since the former is a power of independence where all the service personnel and people have been firmly united around the leader with one ideology and will.

We are convinced that the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people are sure to win as they are dynamically advancing while foiling the moves to ignite a new war by the U.S., engrossed in high-handed and arbitrary practices on the international arena while dreaming of wild dream to dominate the world.

A final victory belongs to the WPK and the Korean people.
