S. Korean Civic Bodies Blast North-targeted Joint Military Drill

| Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The Taejon Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration and other civic organizations in Taejon, south Korea held a news conference in front of the city office on Aug. 21, condemning U.S. imperialists and the puppet regime for waging Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drill in order to drive the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of a nuclear war, according to the south Korean online paper Tongil News. The organizations issued a press release. The press release denounced the authorities for turning down the demand for peace and reconciliation and choosing the confrontation and tensions, adding that the Korean peninsula has become a region in which a war may break out with ultra-modern weapons involved. |
