The editorial charged that the south Korean chief executive reaffirmed cooperation with Japan through telephone talks with the Japanese prime minister and the on-going joint military drill with the U.S. would lead to formation of military alliance with Japan.

The authorities decided to prolong a year the effective period of an agreement on protecting military intelligence with Japan, the second "Ulsa Five-point Treaty", the editorial noted.

A lasting peace is impossible as long as they remain bat-blind resorting to sycophancy and treachery, the editorial stressed.
