Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S. Confrontation and Pressure on DPRK as Futile Actions
Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. had better worry about its destiny, not to clinging to the futile confrontation and pressure on the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a commentary.

It goes on:

The U.S. imperialists were engrossed in nuclear threat and blackmail upon the Korean people in the past, but now they have a hard time facing a miserable destiny.

The DPRK, a world military power, is pressurizing the U.S. and big powers presenting themselves as leading ones are acting as chess pieces of the U.S., "the world's only superpower" trembling with fear. All this patently proves by whom the world political map is being changed.

The situation is turning unfavorable for the U.S. day by day. There is no proper way out.

The U.S. should make a switchover in its policy on the basis of recognizing the fundamentally changed DPRK strategic position and geographical influence.

The changed situation calls for putting the issue of ensuring the security of the U.S. mainland on the negotiations, not the issue of the DPRK's nuclear deterrent.

Under the situation where the DPRK has wringed the neck of the U.S., things cannot change though the U.S. urges other countries to sever the relations with the DPRK. It will only be a trouble-maker.

The confrontation with the DPRK can never guarantee the security of the U.S. mainland.

As the U.S. escalates the confrontation with the DPRK and wastes time to find out a solution, the striking capabilities of the DPRK's strategic forces which put the whole U.S. mainland in their strike range will rapidly increase.
