Preparations for World Taekwon-Do Championships near Completion

| Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The 20th World Taekwon-Do Championships are to be held in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, from September 15 to 21. On this occasion, preparations for the championships are in progress at the final stage. According to a person concerned, there were entries for the championships from teams of over 70 countries and regions. The Taekwon-Do Hall was remodeled as the center for the development of the national martial arts. Preparations for the successful opening and closing ceremonies are on the move. Meanwhile, various programs for supporting matches were developed and hundreds of pieces of apparatuses and furniture were provided. The DPRK hosted the 8th and 17th World Taekwon-Do Championships in 1992 and 2011 and the 5th World Juvenile Taekwon-Do Championship in 2000. |
