Japan is openly opting for military actions with the U.S. The ultra-right media is calling for demonstration of solidarity between Japan and the U.S. and containing the DPRK. It is against this backdrop that Prime Minister Abe had discussion with foreign minister and defense minister and instructed the tightened solidarity between Japan and the U.S. to cope with "threats" from the DPRK.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Saturday derides this as a senseless act beyond one's capabilities.

Revealing the intention sought by Japan going impudently while clamoring about "missile threat", the commentary says:

It is the invariable ambition of the Japanese reactionaries to realize the old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" by abusing the situation in Asia-Pacific that has been rendered tense.

The present Japanese ruling quarters granted the "Self-Defense Forces" the right to exercise the "right to collective self-defense" and expanded the scope of the SDF's overseas operation. By stepping up the moves for turning the country fascist and militarist through the enactment in succession of such evil laws as law on protection of specific secrets and law on punishment of organized crimes, Japan is going to retrogressively revise the constitution in order to legally justify its overseas aggression.

But the retrogressive revision of the constitution has faced strong denunciation at home and abroad and the present Japanese ruling quarters are suffering consecutive defeats in the local elections.

It is now finding the way out in rendering the hostility toward the DPRK extreme and instilling militarist idea into society.

The commentary stresses that should Japan fuel the acute regional situation, it can be laid between life and death.
