According to data available, over 2,680 methane tanks were built for hundreds of dwelling houses with pens.

In this regard, Kim Chol Ho, an official in charge of building work, told KCNA:

Methane tanks fit in with actual conditions of Sepho area. They are highly appreciated by householders in rural communities for being easy to build and convenient to use.

The Sepho tableland, a large-scale stockbreeding base, is abundant in the sources of raw materials for methane production, as the number of livestock is on steady increase there.
