Participants of Taekwon-Do World Championships Feted
Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Cabinet gave a reception at the People's Palace of Culture Thursday for the participants of the 20th Taekwon-Do World Championships.

Present there on invitation were Ri Yong Son, president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation and chairman of the International Martial Arts Games Committee, ITF Honorary President Chang Ung, executive members of the ITF, chairmen of the standing committee, chairmen of the continental federations, representatives from national associations and teams and delegations of different countries and regions.

Attending it were Vice-Premier Jon Kwang Ho, Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee who is chairman of the organizing committee of the championships, and officials concerned.

Jon Kwang Ho said in his speech that the DPRK government would pay deep attention to Taekwon-Do, upholding the instructions of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, and more positively cooperate in the worldwide spread and development of Taekwon-Do.

He expressed belief that the ITF would develop the Taekwon-Do technique and strengthen harmony and unity of the Taekwon-Do practicians as required by its mission as a martial arts organization under the unfurled banner of justice and peace.

Leong Wai Meng, vice-president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, noted in his speech that the orthodox Taekwon-Do practicians will always remember the love and solicitude shown by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for Choe Hong Hui and the ITF.
