The message noted that over the past 50-odd years after its foundation the Mozambique Liberation Front Party achieved the independence of the country through an arduous armed struggle and has registered great successes in the work to defend the sovereignty of the nation and achieve the political stability and socio-economic progress of the country.

It expressed belief that the Congress would serve as an important occasion in further consolidating the successes made in the struggle for independent development and prosperity of the country and strengthening the Party.

It wished great success in the Congress, hoping that the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties forged in the common struggle for independence against imperialism would continue to develop on good terms in the interests of the two peoples.
