Korean People Will Certainly Force Japan to Pay for Its Crimes: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday carries an article on the lapse of 107 years since the Japanese imperialists began unprecedented colonial rule over Korea after replacing the sign of "Residency-General in Korea" by the "Government-General in Korea".

The "Government-General in Korea" was not only a repressive organ to politically suppress the Korean people but also a brigandish body for economic exploitation to put under Japan's domination the key economic lines of Korea in reliance on military force. It was also a suppression organization to stamp out the national education and national culture of Korea, the article notes, and goes on:

The "Government-General in Korea" during the first days of its office set up the military police system in a bid to quench the Korean nation's anti-Japanese awareness and to maintain colonial rule and then enforced hideous medieval horror-ridden military rule.

The Japanese imperialists' vicious moves to completely stamp out the Korean nation with the mobilization of all means and methods had become all the more undisguised along with the expansion of the aggression war and with the approach of their defeat.

After putting up the deceptive slogan "the Japanese and the Korean are of the same ancestry" and "Japan and Korea are one community", Japan enforced the policy of "making Koreans Japanese subjects". In the end it tried to deprive Korean people of even the mother tongue and names. A great number of young and middle-aged Koreans were taken to aggression war battle fields for forced labor and conscription and 200 000 Korean women were forced into sexual slavery.

Far from frankly admitting and repenting of their past crimes, the Japanese reactionaries are still denying the stark historical facts and justifying them in a bid to evade the responsibility. The Korean people will certainly wrest all prices of the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists and those committed by the Japanese reactionaries.
