Present there were representatives of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, the General Association of Koreans in China, the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, the Federation of Koreans in the U.S., the Federation of Koreans in Canada, the European Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, the United Confederation of Koreans in Kazakhstan, the United Confederation of Koreans in Uzbekistan and other organizations of overseas Koreans in different countries and Koreans in Russia.

Present there on invitation were DPRK Ambassador to Russia Kim Hyong Jun, experts of Korean affairs of the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Institute of the Far East under the Russian Academy of Sciences, members of the Russia-Korea Friendship Association and Russians.

Introduced at the meeting were congratulatory messages and letters of solidarity.

The DPRK ambassador made a congratulatory address.

Kim Chil Song, chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia, made a keynote report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the historic October 4 declaration is the immortal great programme to hasten Korea's reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, as it is the programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

To respect and sincerely implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration agreed by the north and the south is the only most realistic way of achieving peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula, they said.

The appeal to all overseas Koreans and world peace-loving people was adopted at the meeting.

An art performance and a reception were given on the same day.
