U.S. and S. Korean Forces Wholly to Blame for Tension on Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- The United States and the south Korean puppet forces are wholly to blame for the extremely escalating tension on the Korean peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary. Much upset by the fact that the DPRK's overall national power and strategic position have reached the highest level, the U.S. is more desperately resorting to sanctions and military threat and blackmail against the DPRK, noisily trumpeting about "threat from the north." In the wake of cooking up the harshest "sanctions resolution" in history through the operation of voting machine some time ago, the U.S. is again talking about "military option" in a desperate bid to do harm to the DPRK. Against this backdrop war maniac Trump let out unprecedented reckless remarks calling for "completely destroying" the DPRK some time ago, revealing the scenario for a nuclear war at any cost. Toeing the U.S. line and confrontation with the compatriots in the north, the south Korean puppet forces pressed the additional deployment of THAAD, terming the DPRK's measures for bolstering up the nuclear force for self-defence "provocation" and "threat." Welcoming Trump's war outbursts, they are begging for the deployment of nuclear strategic assets and massively introducing latest war hardware. Crying out for "maximum pressure" and "harshest sanctions against the north," they are colluding with foreign forces in an international campaign for sanctions and pressure upon the DPRK. The prevailing situation clearly shows the whole nation can neither get rid of the danger of a nuclear war nor pave the way of independent reunification unless an end is put to the U.S. aggression and interference and the anti-reunification forces of south Korea are thrown overboard. |
