The performers said that Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK in accordance with the unanimous will and desire of all the Party members and service persons and people across the country is a historic event of great significance in developing the Party and accomplishing the cause of the Juche revolution.

An Song Il, department director of the Phohang District People's Committee in Chongjin City, praised Kim Jong Il for glorifying the annals of revolution victoriously with the might of the ideological campaign in the whole period of his revolutionary career.

Cha So Hui, worker of the Central Information and Communications Centre, Sin Kyong Suk, vice-chairwoman of the trade union of the External Construction Guidance Bureau, and Kim Pong Chol, staff of the Ministry of External Economic Relations, vividly reflected the Korean people's longing for Kim Jong Il.
