Attending it were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK; Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK; Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet; Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Hwang Pyong So, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and director of the KPA General Political Bureau; and other senior party, state and army officials.

Also present were members of the party central leadership organ in Pyongyang, officials of the party and armed forces organs and ministries, national institutions, officers and men of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and officials of institutions and industrial establishments, labor innovators, working people, youths and students in the city and overseas compatriots.

Choe Ryong Hae in his report at the meeting said that October 8 is a day of invariable loyalty and pledge on which the yearnings of all the servicepersons and people for the great leader who led the WPK in the van are fully displayed and their faith and will to keep to the path along the party are hardened.

The reporter extended the humblest reverence and eternal glory to leader Kim Jong Il who developed the WPK into the organizer and guide of our people for all victories and opened up a new history of prosperity on this land.

He said:

The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il is the symbol of mightiness and the eternal leader of the invincible WPK.

During his guidance over the WPK, he perfectly solved all the theoretical and practical matters arising in the building of a revolutionary party and accomplishing the revolutionary cause in the era of independence and attained rich experience and exploits for the building of a socialist ruling party.

He formulated the revolutionary idea of our Party as Kimilsungism, set forth the programme for modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism and comprehensively systemized the idea and theory of Juche for building the party, state and armed forces and all the fields of economic and cultural construction.

With deep insight into the lawful requirement of the continued revolutionary cause and the historical lesson of the building of the socialist ruling party, he regarded the succession to the idea and leadership of the party as the most important matter decisive of the future destiny of the country and the nation and provided a strong organizational and ideological foundation and leadership system for it.

Attaching priority to the strengthening of the army in the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of the party, he set it as the general task for army-building to model the whole army on Kimilsungism and trained the People's Army into the pure army of the leader and the party and matchless revolutionary army upholding the party's idea and cause in the van.

He steadily enhanced the leadership role of the party to make the immortal feats to go down in the national history for opening the heyday of building a socialist power.

He wisely led the nationwide struggle for reunification of the country and provided the June 15 era of reunification advancing in the idea of By Our Nation Itself and enhanced the international prestige of our Party and State and made great contributions to the cause of independence and socialism against imperialism through his energetic external activities.

The reporter stressed that invincible is the cause of the WPK which is dashing ahead toward the victory of socialism under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as its eternal leader.
