Electricity Production Increases in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- Electric power producers across the DPRK are increasing the production in the spirit of frustrating the ferocious sanctions of the U.S. imperialists and their vassal forces by dint of self-reliance.

As of October 8, thermal power plants produced over 10,000kWs more electricity in October, as compared with the same period of the last year.

The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex directs efforts to boosting power production with less coal consumption, while the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex pushes ahead with the technical innovation movement for increased production.

The same is true of the Sunchon, Chongchongang and East Pyongyang thermal power plants which fulfilled their production plans in September.

Among hydropower stations taking the lead in electricity production are the Hochongang, Sodusu and Paektusan Hero Youth power stations.
