S. Korean Medical Workers Go on General Strike

| Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The branch of the hospital of Ulji University (Taejon) and the Ulji Hospital branch of Ulji University (Seoul) under the trade union of health and medical workers in south Korea went on an indefinite general strike in demand of minimum wage hike on Oct. 10, according to the south Korean paper Nodong and Segye. The trade union announced a plan to launch an all-out action of the organization to support the struggle of the two branches at Ulji Hospital on October 17 in denunciation of the Ulji Foundation which broke the negotiation. In this regard the paper said the minimum wage structure should be improved and the wage gap should be removed. |
