DPRK's Holidays Celebrated in Germany
Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- Political parties and organizations of Germany held celebrations, seminars and solidarity meetings from Sept. 21 to Oct. 10 to mark the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and its 72nd founding anniversary.

Torsten Schoevitz, chairman of the Communist Party of Germany, said:

The WPK has led the Korean revolution to victory for over 70 years thanks to the great leaders.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is staunchly advancing along the road of independence against imperialism under the unfurled banner of independence, Songun and socialism.

The U.S. which is regarding the DPRK as a thorn in its flesh is openly talking about a military option while intentionally inciting hostility toward the DPRK.

We bitterly denounce the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and fully support the just cause of the WPK and the Korean people.

Manfred Schneider, chief of the German Group for the Study of Korean Culture, said the WPK is the genuine motherly party as it is taking care of the people in a responsible manner and pursuing politics for them.

Thomas Lichter, vice-chairman of the Federal Republic of Germany-DPRK Association, noted that through his visit to the DPRK he was greatly encouraged by the Korean people leading an optimistic life despite any difficulties. Any move of the U.S. can not block the vigorous advance of the WPK and the Korean people, he added.

The chairman of the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany said the powerful war deterrence of the DPRK is reliably protecting global peace and security from the reckless threats of a nuclear war by the imperialists. The WPK headed by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un will be ever-victorious, he added.

Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events.
