DIU Anniversary Marked by Swiss Bodies

| Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Oct. 15 on the 91st anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). The joint statement said: October 17 this year is the 91st anniversary of the DIU formed by the great Comrade Kim Il Sung. The DIU is the first Juche-type revolutionary organization in Korea. The DIU raised it as its immediate task to defeat Japanese imperialism and achieve the liberation and independence of Korea and as its ultimate goal to build socialism and communism in Korea and, furthermore, destroy all imperialism and build communism in the world. The formation of DIU was the historic declaration of the new start of the Korean revolution and the declaration of the decisive fight against Japanese imperialism. The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) has been based on the DIU. The WPK is now successfully carrying forward the programme set forth by the DIU. |
