The work deals with the issue of regarding idea and theories of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on national heritage conservation as guidelines and embodying them thoroughly. It also indicates the tasks and ways of conserving national heritage.

For three years since the publication of the work, many successes have been made in national heritage conservation.

The National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage has pushed ahead with the work for excavating and restoring historical remains and relics and preserving them well.

It restored Ssanggye Temple in Myonggan County, North Hamgyong Province, Kunja Pavilion in Kumya County, South Hamgyong Province and Inphung Pavilion in Kanggye City, Jagang Province to their original states

It also set up a razor shell sanctuary in Thaethan County to conserve and propagate razor shells.

It newly listed goshawk of Toksong County, Jongphyong Duck, Ryongchon Cavern and Kwangphojong Duck in South Hamgyong Province, Chimgyo Mineral Water and Kumsujong Spring Water of Mt Jongbang in North Hwanghae Province and Masikryong and Taehwabong spring waters in Kangwon Province as natural monuments and Lake Songun Ryongrim in Jagang Province as a national beauty spot.

It is making multimedia programs "Illustrated Book of Korean Natural Monuments" and "Illustrated Book of Korean Beauty Spots".

It registered more than 100 objects of great value in cultural history as the national and local intangible cultural heritages and completed a program illustrated with photos and videos of 80 intangible cultural heritages.

It excavated a piece of metal type in Manwoldae, Kaesong City in 2015 and four pieces last year, contributing to enriching a treasure house of national cultural heritage.
