The electric power industrial sector has established the power control system based on load control device and power-line communication in South Phyongan Province and other provinces and cities. And, on the basis of mobile network, it has introduced power control system into Pyongyang City and realized the power control by relying on data concentrator and digital multi-functional watt-hour meter.

It has also reinforced power control technical devices at hydro-power stations and substations in different parts of the country and formed data communication network.

Han Chol San, an official of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, said that the renewed national integrated power control system reduces the loss of electricity in transmission, thoroughly ensures the balance between production and consumption of electricity and stabilizes frequency.
