Agent for Preserving Art Works Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- The State Science and Technology Commission of the DPRK has recently registered an agent for preserving art works as latest technical product.

This agent was developed by a research group in the field of national heritage conservation and a nano technology was applied in it.

The agent does not damage ground material of art works and their depiction and is helpful to restoring the faded color to their original state.

The research group overcame the deficiency of Korean paintings, oil paintings, photos, visual aids, stone slogan-board and all other pictures and prints, settled new sci-tech issues and thus made it possible to preserve artistic and ornamental value of works.

According to an official concerned, as it covers ultraviolet, it prevents art works from decolorizing and has great resistance to heat and moisture and completely prevents microorganism from growing, thus lengthening the preservation 3-10 times in the open air and 50-100 years in the interior.

In recent years, this agent has been applied to the Korean Central History Museum, the Cultural Heritage Management Office of Mausoleum of King Tongmyong, the Korean Art Gallery and other units across the country.
