S. Korean Newspaper Urges Probe into Truth of Kwangju Massacre

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- An editorial calling for probe into the truth behind the Kwangju massacre committed by the Chun Doo Hwan fascist junta was posted on the south Korean internet newspaper Voice of People on Oct. 27 as regards the declassified information proving the U.S. connivance and involvement in the massacre.

The information reportedly contains the records that the U.S. special operation forces' MC-130 transport planes were to be deployed on May 25, 1980 when the Kwangju Popular Uprising was underway.

Citing the high possibility of U.S. forces' direct involvement in quelling the uprising, the editorial urged the U.S. to probe the truth behind it by declassifying relevant documents.
