Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to widely introduce the revolutionary career and exploits of leader Kim Jong Il and the achievements made by the Korean people in defending the sovereignty of the country and building a powerful socialist country under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and hold political and cultural events including remembrance meeting and film show on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il.
