It was named "Tanbaekcho" by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in the meaning of being rich in protein during his visit to a farm in September.

"Tanbaekcho" is a perennial plant with thick root and is highly resistant to unfavorable conditions.

For being rich in protein and having the strong effect of anti-oxidation, it is considered to be efficacious for cardiovascular diseases, pulmonary emphysema and diabetes.

It grows well even in the area with low precipitation and sterile land as it can survive at 30 degrees Centigrade below zero and roots three meters deep.

It bears 5 or 6 crops a year.
