Damian Ogbonna, national chairman of the People's Progressive Party of Nigeria, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and the eye-opening achievements being made by the Korean army and people in building a socialist power under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and organize round-table talks, book exhibition and other political and cultural events on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of his demise.
