Spirit of Defending Country in 1950s Is Powerful Ideological Weapon in Anti-U.S. Struggle: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday stresses in an article that the spirit of defending the country in the 1950s serves as the most powerful ideological weapon in driving the U.S. imperialists, sworn enemy of the Korean people, into the abyss of ruin and winning the final victory in the confrontation with the U.S. which continues century after century.

The article says that in fact, the war between the two year-old DPRK and the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world was the hard-fought one just like the fight in which the former faced the outrageous group of gangsters with bare hands.

It goes on:

The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War just like the showdown between a rifle and A-bomb goes to prove that nothing can occupy the service personnel and people who bear in mind the absolute loyalty to their leader and ardent love of theirs and invincible faith.

Today the U.S. imperialists and their followers are openly revealing their ill-intended inveterate hostility and repugnancy toward the DPRK and getting more frantic in their most barbarous sanctions and pressure upon it to usurp its inviolable social system and every sphere of their life.

This is driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula into the brink of a nuclear war.

Any move of the enemies can never check the advance of the DPRK which is dashing forward the final victory.

The daily-increasing moves of the enemies against the DPRK only cement the retaliatory will of its service personnel and people.

The reality requires all the service personnel and people of the DPRK to more firmly arm themselves with the spirit of the heroic struggle of the preceding generation that beat the U.S. imperialist aggressors for the first time in history and carried forward the tradition of the ever-victorious tradition of Juche Korea and the spirit of defending the country in the 1950s.
