Fundamental Step Is Needed to Clear U.S. of Worries: KCNA Commentary
|
|
Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- There is strong movement to restrict Trump's right to the use of force in the U.S. On October 26, 62 members of the House of Representatives of the U.S. submitted a "No Unconstitutional Strike Against North Korea Act" meant to prevent Trump from mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK without an approval by Congress, and senators also plan to enact a similar act. The ex-presidents and former officials of the Defense Department, State Intelligence Agency and Central Intelligence Agency and the White House call for restraining the right to use force granted to Trump, being worried that he may cause a big trouble and he is not aware of the damage his utterance may bring. The New York Times, the Washington Post and other major media call for the institution of a relevant law, and organizations even file lawsuits against the Trump administration. It is the first time in the U.S. history that the political and social circles of the country all rose up, calling for the restriction of the president's right to the use of force. This shows that Trump's bellicose outpourings and war hysteria have reached the phase which can no longer be overlooked. The U.S. is now thrown into extreme uneasiness due to Trump's behavior reminiscent of a mentally deranged man. His impudent acts of pushing the situation to the extremes while crying out for a "military solution" and "total destruction" have created the situation in which a nuclear war may break out any moment. The American society is of the same opinion that this has to be stopped. The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee expressed concerns, saying that the president is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable. Recently the CNN recalled how President Nixon was deterred from going riot to start a nuclear war while showing the symptom of mental derangement at the end of having a hard time due to the "Watergate incident" in the 1970s. This can be seen as a reflection of the atmosphere pervading the U.S. The responsibility for putting under control the present worst situation entirely rests with the U.S. Will it be possible to deter the frenzy of old lunatic just by restraining him from exercising the right to use of force. A fundamental solution is to dismiss him from office, a man branded as a "substantially dangerous being invested with the right to press the nuclear button", and for the U.S. to withdraw the hostile policy toward the DPRK. Otherwise, the U.S. and the whole world can suffer from the nuclear war nightmare. If the U.S. does not want to face a horrible nuclear disaster and tragic end, it had better pay heed to the advice of the international community. |
