The Academy of Forest Science under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection has completed new tree planting methods using salt water of certain concentration, humate and acrylic terracottem and provided a scientific guarantee to boost the rate of rooting of trees.

The General Bureau of Forestry under the ministry has pushed ahead with the work to introduce these methods into many cities and counties of the country.

Kusong City and Kujang, Uiju and Sonchon counties of North Phyongan Province planted trees with the method of soaking roots in humate and foliage dressing method.

In particular, Larix lepolepis has begun to strike root in more than 1 100 hectares of sterile land in Unsan County in South Phyongan Province.

Pyongyang City also found out a method for using acrylic terracottem effectively and introduced it into tree planting.

Now the Academy of Forest Science is working hard to ensure high rate of rooting of trees in summer.
