It was recorded in "Tonguibogam", "Uibangryuchwi", "Hyangyakjipsongbang" and other old books on Koryo medicine.

It is considered to be derived from a treatment by sauna.

It gives no adverse effect and pain on the human body.

It is a good curing method which organically combined the pharmacological effects of thermotherapy with transpiration and smoke of medicine.

In recent years, the Institute of Koryo Medicine and other preventive and curative medical care institutions have introduced the fumigation therapy to raise the rate of curing patients completely.
