Nikolai Polishk, chairman of the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il and hold political and cultural events such as a remembrance meeting, book and photo exhibition and film show on the sixth anniversary of his demise.
