Vital Balla, chairman of the Congolese Association for Friendship among Peoples, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits and organize political and cultural events including remembrance meeting and film show on the sixth anniversary of his demise.
