Marijann Kubik, international secretary of the New Yugoslav Communist Party, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from November 14 to December 17 and decided to organize political and cultural events in praise of Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits in the period.
