Rodong Sinmun Slams S. Korean Regime's Arms Buildup

Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet regime sponsored a meeting of the "committee for accelerating the defense work," where it called for "bolstering the defense capability against the north" and discussed and decided on the ways to do so. According to them, 30 Surion copters will be provided for the puppet army by the end of this year and low-altitude ground-to-air missile M-SAM's production be resumed and deployed from next year. The puppet regime also decided to purchase BMEWS (ballistic missile early warning system) from abroad and push ahead with the production and introduction of various war hardware including K-2 tanks.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says:

The above-said moves of the puppet regime are just reckless ones of the confrontation maniacs to make up for the inferiority in its military, stunned by the tremendous might of the DPRK to firmly preserve peace on the Korean peninsula.

The puppet regime terms the production and introduction of such weaponry a step for "bolstering defense capabilities" to tackle someone's "threat" and "provocation" but it is just aimed to provoke a war against the north, not for "defense".

Its moves are little short of acts of treachery to wreck peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and imperil the destiny of the Korean nation as it is a foolhardy provocation to ignite a north-targeted war at any cost by playing the role of a nuclear war servant of the U.S.

What is more dangerous is that the projected arms buildup is timed to coincide with the dangerous situation on the Korean peninsula which has reached the brink of war.

The puppet regime can never hide its true colors as an arch criminal disturbing peace and stability through frantic north-targeted war drills and arms buildup in collusion with the U.S., no matter how vociferously it talks about "threat" and "provocation" by the north.
