Seen before his photo was a floral basket from Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state and the army of the DPRK.

Present at the service were Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission who is chairman of the DPRK-Cuba Solidarity Committee, Ryu Myong Son, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Army Colonel General Kim Hyong Ryong, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Ho Yong Bok, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, officials of the Ministry of External Economic Relations, the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the General Bureau for Affairs with Diplomatic Corps, and officials of the Cuban embassy here including Ambassador Jesus De Los Angeles Aise Sotolongo.

Placed before the photo of Fidel Castro Ruz were floral baskets in the name of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Foreign Ministry and the DPRK-Cuba Solidarity Committee.

Speeches were made at the event.

The speakers said that Fidel Castro Ruz was a prominent political activist who established the first socialist system in the Western hemisphere and devoted his all to the prosperity of the country, happiness of the people, and the just cause for independence against imperialism.

They recalled that Kim Jong Un paid a condolatory visit to the Cuban embassy here last year to express deep condolences over the demise of Fidel Castro Ruz and sent a high-level condolatory delegation to Cuba.

They confirmed that the fraternal relations between the DPRK and Cuba, the tradition of bilateral friendship provided by the leaders of the preceding generations of the two countries would remain unchanged despite the flow of time and the replacement of generations.

The visitors recollected with deep emotion the life of Fidel dedicated to the victorious advance of the cause of socialism and the development of the DPRK-Cuba friendly relations.
