Entry of U.S. Nuclear Submarine Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- A measure council for checking the building of Jeju naval base in south Korea reportedly issued a statement titled "U.S. nuclear submarine's entry into Jeju naval base can never be allowed" on Nov. 23.

The statement said that the U.S. nuclear submarine Mississippi entered the Jeju naval base on Nov. 22, deploring the situation in which the base has been frequented by the U.S. forces' warships at will.

The entry of the U.S. nuclear strategic assets into the Jeju Island does not do anything helpful to defusing tension on the Korean peninsula, but will only further the military contradiction and conflict in Northeast Asia, it held.

Jeju Island has to be the one of peace, not the one for the preparation of a war, the statement emphasized, adding that this is the way for defending the future of the island and the peace of the Korean peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia.
