U.S. Arms Buildup under Fire
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The Trump administration increased defense budget 10 percent in March and decided to put 700 billion U.S. dollars to defense budget for next year, 3.1 percent more than that of this year. In particular, it branded the nuclear deterrence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for self-defence as the "biggest threat to security" and, under the pretence to cope with it, greatly increased budget of the Missile Defense Agency under the U.S. Defense Department to 12.3 billion U.S. dollars. It also decided to additionally deploy 28 GBI interceptor missiles in Alaska deploy strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear bombs around the Korean Peninsula and spend more budget for missile intercepting system aiming at the DPRK and for boosting military power in the Asia-Pacific region.

This clearly proves once again the brutal and aggressive nature of the U.S. imperialists to threaten anti-U.S. independent countries and potential rivals by force and dominate the world, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in a commentary.

It goes on:

What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. is running amuck to realize the strategy for aggression of the Korean Peninsula and world supremacy by spending huge budget under the pretext of "nuclear and missile threat" from the DPRK.

History showed that the U.S. increase of military spending has escalated arms race among big powers and disturbed global peace and security and increased the danger of a nuclear war in the Korean peninsula and the region, in particular.

The U.S. being frantic with the worst-ever economic sanctions and military threats to stifle the DPRK is greatly increasing military spending. This is a prelude to a nuclear war against the DPRK.

The DPRK will not remain an onlooker to the reckless moves of the U.S. imperialist warmongers increasing the danger of a nuclear war while augmenting military spending but decisively counter the moves.
