Special Pardon for Prisoners of Conscience Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The youth promotion committee for release of prisoners of conscience held a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 26, in demand of special pardon for prisoners of conscience, according to Voice of People, a south Korean internet newspaper.

The speakers said that the special pardon should be given to former lawmaker from the Unified Progressive Party Ri Sok Gi, Chairman of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Han Sang Gyun and all other prisoners of conscience who were subject to harsh suppression under the previous regime.

The release of the prisoners of conscience is the genuine start for the abolition of evils, they said, urging the authorities to take a decision for the building of new society.

They stressed that they would fight it out to restore democracy and defend human rights.
