Attending it were representatives of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and political parties and organizations including the People's Party and the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.

Ri Kyu Jae, chairman of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon, in a speech, called upon the people in the north and the south of Korea and overseas to launch more vigorously the anti-U.S. struggle for independence and peace under the uplifted banner of tripartite solidarity.

He underscored the need to hold a meeting of co-chairmen of Pomminryon in which delegates from the north and the south and overseas can meet in person.

Then followed solidarity speeches.

Solidarity messages from the north and overseas headquarters of Pomminryon were read out and a video titled "From candlelight of democratic resistance to candlelight of anti-U.S. resistance" shown at the meeting.

The permanent representative of the People's Party stressed in a speech that everyone should turn out in the grand march for national independence and reunification to make a new history of the nation.

Then a resolution was read out.

The resolution said that they would convene a meeting for tripartite solidarity on the occasion of Aug. 15 next year and set it as major fighting goals to carry out such political tasks for the national independence and great national unity, the conclusion of a peace treaty, the withdrawal of U.S. troops, the abrogation of "Security Law" and the reunification by federal formula and implement the June 15 and October 4 declarations.
