On the basis of scientific analysis of existing detection methods, a research group of the institute directed the research at raising the scientific accuracy of fishery estimation by attaching additional data on seawater temperature below surface, salinity and seawater level to marine environmental information which had been limited to surface seawater temperature.

The group also updated the process of analyzing marine environmental information and settled technological problems arising in writing a program to estimate the temperature of seawater layers and sea currents with higher accuracy.

Meanwhile, it upgraded a program for positioning and tracking fishing boats.
