"Balanced Diplomacy" Touted by S. Korean Authorities Denounced
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article rejects the "balanced diplomacy" touted by the south Korean authorities.

The chief executive of south Korea on several occasions pledged "balanced diplomacy" by which he would have good relations with China while attaching importance to diplomacy with the U.S. and committed to playing the "role of mediator" between the U.S. and China so that their relationship would develop into that of cooperation and co-prosperity. He even trumpets about "keeping balance" in relations with ASEAN countries, Russia and the European Union and claims that "the new southern policy is a signal of 'balanced diplomacy'".

The article derides this as a foolish act of idiots going busy, unaware of where they stand.

In fact, this is not "balanced diplomacy" and "role of equilibrium" but a revelation of the intention to straddle the relations between the U.S. and China, an act disclosing the poor plight of those depending on outsiders who try to keep their existence in between big powers without independence, the article says, and goes on:

The "balanced diplomacy" called for by the south Korean authorities is a pipe dream and an intolerable act of treachery which does harm to the dignity and interests of the nation.

The only way out for the south Korean authorities to get rid of the present crisis is to take to independence.

If they truly wish for diplomacy, they have to opt for independent diplomacy conducive to realizing national cooperation after ridding itself of the control by outsiders.
