The contest drew cooks selected from service centers and women's union organizations and housewives in Pyongyang, and was divided into the panel of the General Bureau of Public Catering Service, panel of ministries and national institutions, panel of Pyongyang city public catering and the panel of housewives.

The contest judged processes of pickling, making condiments and soaking and included the process of sampling un-sliced cabbage Kimchi which was completed after going through preset fermentation period.

The contesters presented wonderful Kimchi, traditional national dish and worldwide health food, thus demonstrating the development of Korean food culture.

A variety of Kimchi showcasing processing technologies and reflecting sincerity of cooks and housewives were highly appreciated by the participants for their peculiar aroma and refreshing taste.
