Present there were Premier Pak Pong Ju, Presidium member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea and vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK; Choe Hwi and Pak Thae Dok, vice-chairmen of the C.C., WPK; Ko In Ho, vice-premier and minister of Agriculture; Kim Chang Yop, chairman of the C.C., Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea; officials concerned and officials, innovators, scientists and technicians in the fruit farming field.

"Let Us Effect a Fresh Turn in Developing Fruit Farming", a letter sent by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to the participants in the meeting, was conveyed.

Kim Jong Un in the letter indicated the main task facing the fruit farming field at present and the orientation and ways for putting the fruit farming on a new scientific base and radically increasing the fruit production.

He expressed expectation and belief that the officials and workers in the fruit farming field would implement the Party's policy on fruit farming to the letter and thus effect a fresh turn in developing the fruit farming.

The reporter said that the proud history of fruit farming development is a sacred history recorded with boundless love and devotion of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the people.

The fruit farming in the DPRK has now made a fresh development under the wise guidance of the respected Supreme Leader, he said, referring to the achievements made in the field of fruit farming in recent years through a dynamic drive to carry through the behests of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the Party's policy.

The reporter called upon the officials and working people in the fruit farming field to intensify the movement for scientific fruit farming kindled by the Party and thus bring about a drastic turn in the development of the country's fruit farming.

At the meeting speakers expressed their resolve to fulfill their mission and duty, after mentioning the successes and experience gained in the efforts to solidify the material and technological foundations for fruit farming and carry out their fruit production plan.

Then the standing of the socialist production emulation among the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, the Kosan Combined Fruit Farm, Kwail County and Pukchong County for Juche 106 (2017) was announced. The rotating silk banner and citation in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK Cabinet were awarded to Kwail County which took the first place and prizes went to the successful units.

The outline for the socialist production emulation in the field of fruit farming for Juche 107 (2018) was announced.
